The Who announced the dismissal of drummer Zak Starkey .

The drummer, son of Ringo Starr, was a touring member of the band for 29 years and was fired after reports of disagreements with singer Roger Daltrey , which became public during the band's recent performances at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

A press release issued by a spokesperson for The Who stated that “the band has made the collective decision to part ways with Zak following this round of shows at the Royal Albert Hall. They have nothing but admiration for him and wish him all the best for the future.”

However, an anonymous source told the Mirror that the separation was "a bit bitter, to say the least."

The same source told the Mirror that Daltrey complained about Starkey's overacting during one of the shows at the Albert Hall, telling the audience: “To sing this song, I need to hear the key, and I can't. All I have is the drums going boom, boom, boom. I can't sing like that. Sorry, guys.”

So far, the drummer has not made any statement, but he did post a humorous message on social media a few days ago that seemed to suggest he knew about the change before it was announced. Check it out below:
