Considered one of the most influential duos in music, Pete and Roger revolutionized the concept of live performance. Their high-energy performance, in Pete's own words, "rose from the ashes of rock 'n' roll's golden age" ( via Blabbermouth ).

Daltrey, the band's vocalist, made a point of expressing his gratitude to the American public during the announcement, recalling the band's dream of achieving success in the United States, which came true in 1967.

Furthermore, the singer praised the audience's receptiveness and recounted how much inspiration the American audience provided for the band over the years, comparing it to the feeling of musical freedom he felt when listening to his first rock records.

The historic tour, whose name already evokes all the nostalgia of the band's classics with the foreshadowing of farewell, The Song Is Over Tour will mark the final celebration of this special connection with North American fans.

During the press conference, and on several occasions, the band's affection for the American live audience began in 1967, during the Murray The K's Music In The Fifth Dimension in New York. In addition to this, there was the historic performance at Woodstock in 1969.
