Russell Allen says band is looking for a new drummer
In an interview with Wikimetal this week, Adrenaline Mob vocalist Russell Allen spoke about drummer Mike Portnoy's departure from the band. According to the vocalist, the band will continue without Portnoy: "We want to keep working and we can't wait for Mike to have time; and he doesn't know when he'll have time again."

The vocalist emphasized that Portnoy was invited to join the band after the compositions were already finished: “He was invited to join the band by me, when Mike Orlando and I had already written all the material. Everything was finalized before he joined the band. It's a shame, but he has his own projects and Adrenaline Mob has to continue.”

Allen also explained that the band is currently working on new material and that they are evaluating new drummers.
“We don’t have a drummer in mind, but we’re writing new material that we hope to record later this year. Mike was very nice and gave suggestions on who should replace him; we’re looking at all the options.”
