Trial concludes and jury begins deliberations on Stairway To Heaven plagiarism

The presentation of arguments and evidence in the Stairway To Heaven , and the jury entered its second day of deliberations on the verdict today.

Musicians Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were present throughout the trial, and both testified as witnesses. John Paul Jones was acquitted early in the case.

The lawyer for the Randy Craig Wolfe Trust, which represents the late composer of " Taurus ," a song that resembles " Stairway to Heaven," argued in his final statement that credit must be given where it is due: "We respect and value creations. But 'creating' doesn't mean copying. 'Creating' means making something that is unique and memorable."

The defense repeatedly argued that no evidence had been presented that Plant and Page had heard the music before composing Stairway . Furthermore, the defense also presented experts who stated that the chord progression found in both songs is common and can be heard in compositions dating back to the 17th century.

The Randy Craig Wolfe Trust is seeking financial compensation and one-third of the songwriting credits for " Stairway to Heaven .
