The group's new album was released on March 23rd by Razor & Tie
The band The Sword recently released their sixth studio album, the successor to High Country (2015).
Used Future features thirteen tracks recorded in Portland, Oregon alongside producer Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket, First Aid Kit), and its title track has just received a music video inspired by old Nintendo games.
Created by Rooster Teeth, the video showcases the Americans' new sound, moving away from Doom Metal. According to guitarist and vocalist JD Cronise, the band sought to incorporate aspects reminiscent of other groups such as Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, and Blackfoot.
“We need to do something that we find interesting and enjoyable,” he said, “And for me, it was getting boring always doing the same thing. Our opinions changed and evolved over time, and for me, everything we did was natural.”
