Considered one of the most influential and revered rock bands of all time, Iron Maiden will be returning to Brazil soon – the group is one of the confirmed acts for Rock In Rio 2022, and during their visit to the country they will also perform in São Paulo, Curitiba, and Ribeirão Preto. The shows will take place on August 27th at Pedreira Paulo Leminski in Curitiba, on August 30th at Arena Eurobike in Ribeirão Preto, and on September 4th at Estádio do Morumbi in São Paulo.

But Iron Maiden won't be alone. Today they announced that they will have company for these solo performances in the country. Joining Iron Maiden is the Swedish band Avatar , on their second visit to the country.

Tickets for Iron Maiden's shows in São Paulo and Ribeirão Preto are on sale at livepass.com.br. Tickets for the Curitiba show are already sold out.

Avatar is a melodic death metal band formed in 2001 in the Swedish city of Gothenburg. In 2004 they released two EPs and in 2006 their first studio album, Thoughts Of No Tomorrow , and their second, Schlacht , in 2007. Both achieved good positions on the Swedish charts, while the band toured extensively in Europe supporting bands such as Impaled Nazarene , Evergrey , and In Flames .

In 2010 they signed a contract with Sony and in 2012 the album Black Waltz was released throughout Europe and subsequently in the United States, with the band embarking on their first North American tour in 2013. Hail The Apocalypse , their subsequent album, released in 2014, led the band to several tours and festival performances worldwide. 2017 marked an excellent year in the band's history: they performed at Hellfest , their song "New Land" reached number 20 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart in May, and in June they received the Breakthrough Band at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods . Their most recent album, Hunter Gatherer, was released in 2020.

Its current members are Johannes Eckerström (vocals), Jonas Jarlsby and Simon Andersson (guitars), Henrik Sandelin (bass) and John Alfredsson (drums).
