Disturbed has reached a new career milestone. The video for "The Sound of Silence" has surpassed one billion views on YouTube.
Simon & Garfunkel classic , released on the album Immortalized (2005). The song also received a thrilling live performance on Conan in March 2016. Interestingly, the most viewed video of Simon & Garfunkel singing the song has only 134 million views.
Paul Simon praised Disturbed's powerful rendition, sending his approval via email to vocalist David Draiman : “Really powerful performance on Conan . It was the first time I saw you do that live. Cool. Thanks.”
The Disturbed vocalist responded to Simon at the time: “Mr. Simon, I am honored beyond words. We only hoped to pay tribute to the brilliance of one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Your praise means a great deal to us and we are eternally grateful.”
Disturbed on tour
After an extensive tour promoting their album Divisive (2022), Disturbed only has three festival dates on their schedule: Rocklahoma, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock . Guitarist Dan Donegan recently revealed that the band is considering a 25th-anniversary tour in 2025 for their multi-platinum debut album, The Sickness .
Brazilian fans are also requesting performances by the band at Knotfest Brazil .
