The Smashing Pumpkins have announced a new album, Aghori Mhori Mei . But this time they won't be releasing any singles; fans will have to wait for the full release on August 2nd. This is the band's thirteenth album, following Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts, a triple album released in three parts. The last part was released in May 2023.

Billy Corgan wrote and produced the album, according to the press release . The recordings, made with the band, took place during breaks in their tour over the past few years.

“While writing this new album, I was intrigued by the old axiom: ‘You can’t go back home’,” Corgan notes. “Which I personally found to be true in form, but I thought: well, what if we tried anyway?”

The Smashing Pumpkins release full album.

In the post announcing the release of the new album, Billy says that the idea of releasing the complete album is so that it can be evaluated as a single work. Initially, the album will be available digitally and will later be released on physical media.

“We felt that the right way to listen to this album was as a whole,” Corgan points out, adding later that fans “can decide the value of what we’ve done” by evaluating the music as a whole.

But the band doesn't stop; they continue touring North America and recently announced shows in South America, including Brasília and São Paulo.
