On Wednesday night, June 1st, the Rolling Stones kicked off their Sixty in Madrid, Spain. The performance was the band's first in Europe without drummer Charlie Watts , who passed away in August and would have turned 81 on Thursday, June 2nd.
The Madrid show featured a tribute to the late drummer and also a surprise. For the first time since its release, the song "Out of Time," from the album Aftermath (1996), was performed live by the band. Fifty-six years had passed since the Rolling Stones last included the song in their repertoire.
The band continues touring with drummer Steve Jordan , who was present on the North American leg and has dates scheduled in Europe until July 31st, ending the shows in Stockholm, Sweden.
