The Rolling Stones: Mick Jagger only approved Alok's remix on the tenth version.

The Brazilian DJ was invited to do a remix of “Living In A Ghost Town”

In 2020, Alok was invited to remix a Rolling Stones song , but it seems Mick Jagger was quite demanding before approving the final version.

The duo met in 2017 when Alok was DJing at a secret party, and the encounter led to their first collaboration: a remix of Mick Jagger's solo song, "Gotta Get a Grip." In 2020, they repeated the collaboration with a remix of "Living In A Ghost Town .

In an interview with Rolling Stone USA , Alok revealed that he received an invitation from the vocalist to remix the first new Rolling Stones song in 8 years.

“After Covid, he [Jagger] called me and said, ‘Look, we’re going to release an unreleased Rolling Stones song after eight years. Would you like to do a remix?’ And I said, ‘Yes, of course.’ I love collaborating,” says the DJ.

Getting Mick Jagger's approval, however, wasn't easy. According to Alok, he submitted 10 different versions of the remix before his work was approved by the singer.

“I answered a call from him [Mick Jagger] and said, ‘Look, now I understand why you wrote ‘I Can’t Get No Satisfaction.’ You’re never satisfied,’” Alok recounts. “‘This is my last attempt with the tenth version.’”

The latest version seems to have finally gained Mick Jagger's approval and was officially released on May 14, 2020. Check out the result:
