Guitarist Kim Thayil , bassist Ben Sheperd , and drummer Matt Cameron , the remaining members of Soundgarden , are working on a new album for the band. This information was revealed during Cameron's appearance on Sarah Hagan's Backstage Alternative Nation ).

Cameron revealed that although the members are reunited to record new material, the new project is unlikely to be Soundgarden due to legal issues involving Chris Cornell's widow , Vicky Cornell . It's possible they will adopt Nude Dragons , the name of the Instagram account the three maintain.

In the interview, Matt Cameron gave no clues as to who will be the vocalist replacing Chris Cornell on the new album. However, fans began suggesting names like Eddie Vedder, Mark Lanegan , and William DuVall to fill the singer's position.
