The Pure

The Puro is the new project by Noel Hogan (guitarist and songwriter for the Irish band The Cranberries) with Brazilian singer Mell Peck. After two years of long-distance collaboration, the duo released their first songs this year, combining Mell's powerful vocals with Noel's experienced alternative rock arrangements, in versions in English and Portuguese.

The collaboration between the two arose after Noel discovered Mell's covers on YouTube in 2019, thanks to recommendations from several people who suggested the singer's work. Mell, who now lives in Porto Alegre, explains: “We met and during our conversations the idea of composing together came up. Since then, we haven't stopped, and ideas are always coming.” The two work remotely, with the help of translators, since Mell doesn't speak fluent English.

Leela

The band Leela consists of Bianca Jhordão (vocals and guitar), Rodrigo O'Reilly Brandão (guitar and music production), Guilherme Dourado (bass), and Fabiano Paz (drums). They currently host the show #LeelaLive, featuring influential artists in the Brazilian music industry, on their YouTube channel: YouTube.com/leelaoficial
