The duo The Puro , formed by Noel Hogan , guitarist of The Cranberries , and Brazilian singer Mell Peck , releases this Friday, the 19th, the second single from the project, called “Goodbye”, through the label ForMusic Records .

The successor to “Prison” , which had a Portuguese version called “Prisão”, the new release combines Noel's captivating arrangements and guitars with Mell's emotional vocals, crowning the production with an explosive chorus.

The collaboration between the two came about after Noel discovered Mell's covers on YouTube in 2019, thanks to recommendations from several people who suggested the singer's work. Mell, who now lives in Porto Alegre, explains: “We met and during our conversations the idea of composing together came up. Since then, we haven't stopped, and the ideas are always coming.”

“Our new single 'Goodbye' is a spiritual song. The lyrics explore how we are never truly alone. A person may leave us, but they never really go away. We are always surrounded by spiritual beings on the other side, and we will reunite with them someday,” says Mell. “On another level, 'Goodbye' is also about perseverance. Life throws many challenges at us, and it’s essential to persevere. We all have a purpose, so keep moving forward and never stop!”

For two years, their collaboration has been entirely remote, during which time Noel Hogan and Mell Peck have written dozens of songs together. The duo plans to release an EP later this year, in addition to Noel coming to Brazil.
