Last Thursday, the 25th, The Pretty Reckless shared a video on their official Instagram account in a studio with the mysterious caption “#5 ” .
Following the hints, a day later vocalist Taylor Momsen also posted a photo on her personal Instagram of herself in the studio with producer Jonathan Wyman, who was part of the production team for the band's last album: Death By Rock N' Roll, which was released in 2021. For the most hopeful fans, this is an apparent confirmation that the band is producing new music.
In May 2023, the vocalist said in an interview with radio station 99.7 The Blitz that she and her bandmates were working on the successor to Death By Rock N' Roll (via Blabbermouth Death By Rock And Roll tour cycle . And then a new album – that’s the next chapter. We’ve kind of already started… We’re in the studio.” and continued: “I don’t know how long it will take. I don’t have dates or any further information beyond that. But we’ve gone into a studio and we’re super, super excited.”
The band, formed in 2009, consists of Momsen (vocals), Ben Phillips (guitar), Mark Damon (bass), and Jamie Perkins (drums).
'Other Worlds' surprises with acoustic sounds and 'Death By Rock And Roll' collects number one hits.
The 2022 album Other Worlds is the latest release we have from the American group so far; however, this album didn't bring new compositions for fans, but surprised them with remixes and acoustic versions of songs that those who follow the band already know. The acoustic versions, however, didn't diminish the power of Taylor Momsen's voice, which manages to be just as impactful even with calmer rhythms.
However, Death By Rock And Roll holds the record for the last album with new songs, and it also topped many sales charts, such as Billboard , being the band's first album without producer Jamie Perkins.
