Regarding the album title, Chrissie Hynde explains (via Consequence of Sound ): “I like to research the various meanings and origins of a word. And I liked the definition: 'showing no reduction in intensity'. So, when it came to the album title, it felt fitting. You know… continuing to do it. I think anyone in a band is constantly questioning whether they should continue. It starts as a youthful pursuit and eventually makes you wonder: why am I doing this? It’s the life of an artist. You never retire. You become relentless .
