The Offspring 's vocalist Dexter Holland , has announced that studio recording for their next album will begin in January. For the third time, Bob Rock , who has worked with major artists such as Metallica , will be responsible for production.

The 11th album will be the successor to Let The Bad Times Roll (2021), which broke several career records on the charts , including number one on the American alternative album chart.

In an interview with the Times Colonist , Holland explained how the pandemic changed the perception of all the band members regarding the delay in releasing new material: “In a funny way, I think the pandemic break really energized us. It gave us time to finish the last album and get the band really together. We decided to continue, then, while we're on tour, to work on a new project. The nature of the music business is that you never know when your time is up. We're very lucky to still be here. But as Jim Morrison once said, 'The future is uncertain and the end is near.' It always feels like we can do this for a few more years – people keep coming to the shows, and we're still getting radio play – so for now, it feels okay. But beyond that, who knows?”

Previously, fans had waited from 2012 to 2021 for something new. This nine-year wait, therefore, should thankfully not be repeated.

Finally, the vocalist gave a preview of what to expect from the new album: “This album is probably the most cathartic thing we’ve ever done. The messages may be dark, but in the end, what remains is that communication is important, resolving feelings is important, and above all, hope is important.”

While we wait for the new album to be released, listen to Let The Bad Times Roll :
