The Offspring , in a recent interview with Atlanta radio station 99X on May 4, 2024, spoke casually about the band's luxurious tour bus, which they said was nothing like their previous one. During the interview, they also revealed that the band's new album is finished.
The band members, guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman and singer Bryan “Dexter” Holland, have confirmed that their eleventh studio album is complete.
“It’s ready. It’s mastered,” Noodles said, according to a Blabbermouth . “All the guys were on the bus and we just listened to the masters of the new album. It’s simply ready.”
They also took the opportunity to speak when questioned about the intermittent way they are recording. Noodles said: “That’s pretty much how we work these days. We don’t go into the studio and lock ourselves in for six months. We do it little by little, a few weeks here, a few weeks there.”
About the band's creation process
Regarding the musical direction of the new album, in August 2023, Holland spoke to The Orange County Register about the musical and lyrical direction of The Offspring's new material. He explained that sometimes songs begin to be written without a clear vision of the album until it is almost finished.
Holland said he realized that songs like “Why Don't You Get A Job?” and “Pretty Fly” were describing American society, and that's why he called the album Americana . He emphasized that the band still maintains the energy and rebelliousness of punk, but their current focus is on melody, aiming to create truly good songs.
He also mentioned, in another interview with Radioacktiva in Colombia, that the recording process was intermittent but fun, especially working with producer Bob Rock . The band learned to make better use of their time in the studio, highlighting a creative period during the production of Let The Bad Times Roll , which was a global success, reaching high rankings on various charts.
The current lineup includes Holland, Wasserman, and bassist Todd Morse.
