The Offspring share new single “Light It Up”, from new album 'Supercharged'.

Album scheduled for release on October 11th.

The Californian band The Offspring has released the official music video for "Light It Up ," a new song from their upcoming studio album Supercharged, scheduled for release on October 11th.

“Light It Up” was intended to be an explosion of energy, with lyrics that reflect frustration and the desire to fight against injustice. Similarly, vocalist and guitarist Bryan Dexter Holland describes the song as an anthem for those who are tired and ready to act, a hallmark of punk rock since its beginnings.

“This song is a full-speed explosion. The character in the song is fed up and is going to get fired up. He’s ready for a fight. And I definitely feel a lot of that around me,” Dexter stated.

“Growing up, some of my favorite songs were from punk bands that said, ‘I’m fed up with your bullshit.’ And that was normal. It wasn’t a negative thing to have those feelings and express them,” Holland added. “And I think that’s the vibe of ‘Light It Up’: You’re fed up, and you want to do something about it.”

Guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman gave his statement about the upcoming work in a recent interview with radio station Z93 : “So far the reaction to the material has been great. I know some journalists have listened to the entire album, from beginning to end, and the feedback I received from the journalists who heard it has been very positive.”
