According to the autopsy performed by Los Angeles authorities, drummer Nick Menza's death was caused by cardiovascular problems. The report lists the death as 'due to natural causes'.

Menza suffered a heart attack on the 21st while performing with his band OHM in Los Angeles. The illness was listed as hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Menza had been sober for 8 years.
Menza was the drummer for Megadeth's classic era, having participated in "Rust In Peace," "Countdown To Extinction," "Youthanasia," "Hidden Treasures," and "Cryptic Writings.".
