Perry Farrell , from Jane's Addiction , spoke in an interview about the music industry. He stated that he sees a change since Kurt Cobain .

“I think the music industry changed when Kurt Cobain died,” he said. “The record labels couldn’t take any more of the ‘antics’ of a junkie musician ruining himself somewhere.”

He added: “There were many other people who maybe weren’t as talented, but they made money for you. Gone are the days of Johnny Thunders sleeping with his head on the microphone. When Kurt died, they got tired of that.”

The singer also expressed concern about the industry today. "I see that the music industry is in trouble. When Jane's Addiction came out, there was no internet to listen to music for free, but now artists receive nothing and are going through difficulties," he said.

“Music venues are closing, and we musicians need places to play. So, my attitude is: I'm going to build a 'caravan' and we can travel the world performing for people — because the world needs music.”
