The first official teaser trailer for The Munsters was released last Wednesday, although the film still doesn't have a release date. The movie is written and directed by Rob Zombie and is a film adaptation of the CBS series of the same name.

Herman Munster , Lily Munster , and Grandpa Munster can be seen being introduced in black and white, as in the original 1964 series. The final shot, however, is shown in color, which suggests that Rob Zombie may have decided to give the reboot .

Zombie was announced as the film's director last June , and the musician expressed great enthusiasm for the project, which he claims to have been working on for 20 years.

According to actor Butch Patrick , who played the werewolf child Eddie Munster in the first version of the series, an early screening of the film exceeded two and a half hours in length and was described as "killer" and "very good".
