Ultimate Guitar this week listed the ten most expensive guitars ever sold. In first place is a Fender Stratocaster that sold for $2.7 million at auction in Qatar in 2005. The money raised was donated to the Reach Out To Asia charity to help tsunami victims.
The guitar is autographed by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Brian May, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Pete Townsend, Mark Knopfler, Ray Davis, Liam Gallagher, Ronnie Wood, Tony Iommi, Angus and Malcolm Young, Paul Mccartney, Sting, Ritchie Blackmore, Def Leppard and Bryan Adams.
The guitar was acquired by one of the founders of the organization Reach Out To Asia, the daughter of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani.
