The punk band The Linda Lindas , formed by teenagers between 10 and 16 years old, reached TV after impressing big names with the viral hit "Racist, Sexit Boy" due to their attitude and quality.
With an impressive resume on stage since 2018 and approval from artists such as Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine , Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers , Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth , and Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion , the quartet made their US television debut last Friday, the 4th, on the Jimmy Kimmel Live .
The song “Racist, Sexist Boy” was inspired by a racist incident experienced by the youngest member, Mia , the group's drummer, with a schoolmate. A boy informed her that his father had asked him to stay away from Chinese people and distanced himself from her when he learned her nationality. The group also performed “Claudia Kishi,” written for the Netflix The Claudia Kishi Club
