The Hives released their newest anthem, "Legalize Living," this Monday, the 7th.

Taken from their seventh album, The Hives Forever Forever The Hives , which will be released on August 29, 2025 by the reputable label Play It Again Sam , the track comes with a music video directed by the renowned Filip Nilsson and Henry Moore Selder , with whom the band had already collaborated on their previous hit, "Paint A Picture".

The band commented on the release:

“Have you ever felt like life is strangling you a little more each day? Like a tight turtleneck sweater or the hands of an invisible garden gnome? Do you feel like you're being put in ever smaller cages and on ever tighter schedules? Do you identify with Michael Douglas in Falling Down? You're not crazy! Governments around the world have been slowly but surely taking steps to make life itself illegal. Stop normalizing this normalization! Join The Hives in the campaign for the legalization of the right to live in all countries! Things need to change now!”

This new up-and-coming favorite also follows his initial announcement, “Enough Is Enough,” released in April to herald the arrival of his new masterpiece, a moment marked by a stunning performance in Mexico City and then a show at the foot of Rockefeller Center in New York. Another musical triumph, “Paint A Picture” once again delivers a dose of high-energy Rock 'n' Roll like no one else on the planet.
