The Heathen Scÿthe released this Wednesday, the 23rd, the music video for “The Magus”, the first single from their debut album, scheduled for release on July 23, 2025 through Dharma Music .

“The Magus” represents more than just a song. It is a musical invocation based on the eponymous grimoire written by the British occultist Francis Barrett in the early 19th century. This seminal work, which compiled fundamental knowledge about natural magic, alchemy, Kabbalah, demonology, angelology, and ceremonial magic, became one of the cornerstones of the British occult renaissance. It was directly influenced by legendary figures such as Eliphas Levi and Aleister Crowley .

Vocalist Da'at commented:

“We provide the listener with context on the main concepts of magic contained in the books, bringing to light one of the most important treatises on occult philosophy ever written. It is a magical journey that takes the listener through different immersive atmospheres during its less than 4 minutes, connecting them with ancestral knowledge that shaped Western esoteric thought.”

The Heathen Scÿthe brings an innovative proposal to the music scene. The band from São Paulo blends occultism and paganism with a sound that fuses Classic Metal, Industrial, Power, Doom, Metalcore and Black Metal.
