The Exploited canceled their farewell show at Mister Rock in Belo Horizonte last Friday, the 9th, after vocalist Wattie Buchan fell ill.

The news was released late Friday night, close to the time of the performance, through a statement on the social media accounts of the agency Sob Controle, responsible for producing the shows.

The performance was part of the Scottish punk band's farewell tour, which began last Thursday, May 7th, and continues this weekend in Rio de Janeiro on the 10th and São Paulo on the 11th.

The opening bands Ratos de Porão and The Chisel joined forces on stage in a sort of tribute to compensate for the absence of the Scottish group.

Read the note posted by the agency:

"We regret to inform you that The Exploited's vocalist, Wattie Buchan, will not be able to perform at tonight's show in Belo Horizonte. Wattie felt unwell in the mid-afternoon and, on medical advice, is resting to ensure his full recovery so he can continue with the shows in Rio de Janeiro (Saturday) and São Paulo (Sunday). Despite this, the show will go ahead with a special lineup, bringing together Ratos de Porão, The Chisel, and friends in a tribute worthy of the energy that The Exploited represents. We reassure the public: Wattie is well, stable, and being properly monitored; he will continue as scheduled with the Rio and São Paulo shows. Thank you for your understanding, and we continue together in this celebration of punk!"

The Exploited guarantees that the upcoming shows will take place

This morning, Buchan posted a video on his social media thanking João Gordo and Callum Graham , vocalists of Ratos de Porão and The Chisel respectively, for the performance and guaranteeing that The Exploited will perform today in Rio de Janeiro.

The Exploited's South American tour included shows in Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay. Buchan had already stated that his "farewell" to the stage would only take place in locations further away from the United Kingdom. This is because, recently, he himself has shown signs of poor health, which makes long trips difficult.
