Waiting For The Sun is The Doors' third album
The Doors will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their third album, Waiting For The Sun, with a reissue featuring 14 previously unreleased tracks. The album will be available on CD and vinyl and will be released on September 14th by Rhino.
Of the fourteen previously unreleased recordings, nine are rough mixes, captured during the original recording sessions, which sound engineer Bruce Botnick found in his archives. “I prefer some of these rough mixes because they represent all the additional elements and background vocals, different sensitivities on the balance, and some intangible irregularities, which are quite appealing and refreshing,” said Botnick.
The other five unreleased tracks were recorded live at the show on September 17, 1968 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
