The Devil Wears Prada announces new album and releases minimalist single

Vocalist Mike Hranica spoke about the band's new sound being more minimalist

The Devil Wears Prada has announced a new album, The Act , and released the first single, “Lines of Your Hands.” According to vocalist Mike Hranica , the band will embrace a more minimalist sound.

Featured on the album to be released on October 11th, the single departs from the roots of metalcore. “When I hear something like Billie Eilish , my mind goes straight to the minimalism of it. I don’t see that in metal or hard rock… That’s something that really excites me,” he said.

He explained that this minimalism is something that has attracted him. "I realized about five years ago or so that I was drawn to the culture and art that holds you by what isn't there. Not by what is.".

In a statement, they said: “In terms of sound, we feel that 'Line of Your Hands' fulfills all the requirements for a debut single. What's to come is a real departure from where the band has been for the last ten years.”.
