O Maldito , a rising national sensation from Curitiba, has released the lyric video for "Ao Sul de Lugar Nenhum" (South of Nowhere). The track is part of the group's self-titled debut album
The music is an immersion into dense sounds, existentialist themes, and literary and philosophical references, with direct inspiration from a book by Charles Bukowski .
The visual direction draws inspiration from bands like Rotting Christ and High on Fire . Artificial intelligence generated some of the scenes and characters, a resource adopted mainly due to the track's long duration. Vocalist and bassist Rubão explained the video's aesthetic approach, which follows a deliberately dark visual style. “We adopted a more somber approach. Excessively dark scenes allowed us to create a 'cursed' atmosphere, like a rainbow in black and gray, as a friend of ours said.”
About the band O Maldito
The band O Maldito was formed in 2017 in Curitiba and consists of Rubão Zampieri, Jefferson Moraes and Toni Antônio on guitars and Vilmar 'Koreia' dos Santos on drums.
Additionally, despite being relatively new, the band already displays remarkable musical maturity and cohesion. Their sound is a fusion of heavy guitar riffs with poetry in Portuguese, addressing themes such as urban chronicle, existentialism, social and political critiques, as well as individual experiences and nihilism, reflected in their debut album, O Maldito .
