The information comes after the cause of death of Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries was determined.

The band The Cranberries has confirmed that they will be splitting up after the release of their new studio album, In the End .

The band members stated that work on the new album was underway when Dolores O'Riordan passed away in January. This statement was made in an interview with the British newspaper The Guardian.

“Dolores was going through a lot and it was very difficult to compose. The lyrics on the new album are very powerful.”

"She always said she had difficulty writing songs when she felt happy. 'Put a little sadness in my life and it will be easier,' she would say."

"We'll make this album and that's it. There's no reason to continue," declared Noel Hogan, the band's guitarist.

"She was very excited about the album release and the tour in China. It was a very big thing for us."

Earlier this month, the investigation into the singer's death concluded that she drowned due to alcohol poisoning.
