In July, legislation was passed that would transform The Alrosa Villa music venue, where guitarist Dimebag Darrell was fatally shot, into a new residential area in Ohio.

Now, 17 years after Dimebag's murder, the concert venue has been demolished. The plan is to transform the area into an affordable housing space with three buildings and apartments ranging from one to four bedrooms.

Alrosa Villa was a music venue that hosted artists for over 45 years – including Slipknot, Korn, Quiet Riot , and Buckcherry . On December 8, 2004, a former Marine named Nathan Gale opened fire on Damageplan while the band was performing, fatally wounding Dimebag Darrell. Nathan was subsequently killed by police officer James D. Niggemeyer , who arrived at the scene minutes after Gale began shooting.

See below a video of the building being demolished.
