The play does not yet have a release date and production is just beginning.

Amidst a wave of new biopics, Nowhere Boy (2009), which tells the story of the legendary John Lennon , will come to life in theaters.

According to Deadline , the rights to the story were sold to Brian and Dayna Lee (Angels In America, Broadway musical), Robyn Goodman (American Idiot, Green Day musical) and Josh Fiedler (The Secret Garden).

The team will produce the piece, but dates haven't been set yet. "We just secured the rights, and as a team, we're going to travel around London this summer to try and find the right person to bring this story to life," Lee explained.

The story revolves around the relationship between John Lennon and his mother, Julia, who gave him his first guitar, and the importance of his aunt Mimi Smith, who raised him.

Yoko Ono , Lennon's widow, was not personally involved in the project, and according to the production team, the work will not feature any Beatles music, just like the film.
