The Black Dahlia Murder will not cease operations following the death of vocalist Trevor Strnad , who passed away in May of this year at the age of 41. The band has already announced a new lineup and a tribute concert for the late musician.
Guitarist and founding member Brian Eschbach decided to take over vocals, and the band recruited guitarist Ryan Knight , who had previously played with the band between 2008 and 2016. "This decision was taken seriously when the band came together to discuss their future after they began working through the initial shock and pain of losing their best friend," Black Dahlia Murder wrote in a statement.
The first performance with the band's new lineup will take place on October 28th in Detroit, United States, with the aim of celebrating Strnad's life and legacy. Tickets have been on sale since last Friday, the 16th, on Ticketmaster .
