In 2000, the court sentenced Axl Rose . Many rock stars have had stalkers over the years, but why does the Guns N' Roses stand out? He's the only one with a stalker who claims she can communicate with the artist telepathically.

The stalker in question is named Karen McNeil . In mid-1997, Axl Rose discovered that Karen was appearing on his property, claiming to be his wife, and that she could communicate with him telepathically. Axl obtained a restraining order against McNeil. The law required her to stay at least 275 meters away from him.

Just over a year later, Karen made another attempt to break into Axl's house, and this time served time in prison. This didn't intimidate her, as McNeil had reportedly sent numerous letters to Rose.

In May 2000, police found McNeil at Rose's house in Malibu, California. The stalker was not only arrested for violating a restraining order, but was also held on $150,000 bail (approximately R$825,000 at the current exchange rate).

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department deputy Boris Nikolof NME ]: "Rose called the Malibu/Lost Hills police station to report that a stalker was trying to enter her property." Shortly after, on June 21, the court sentenced McNeil, 39, to one year in prison.

Karen McNeil had another target after Axl Rose.

After spending a year in prison, Karen McNeil returned to freedom but did not rest. In 2009, Justin Timberlake filed a restraining order after McNeil broke into his Los Angeles home three times in a row.

In court, McNeil claimed [via Today.com ]: “It was all a lie. I didn’t break into Justin’s house. I was authorized to enter the property.”

However, the court ordered Karen McNeil to stay at least 90 meters away from Timberlake and his home.

By all accounts, Karen suffered from erotomania, which Dr. Joseph A. Davis described as “the delusional belief that the stalker is passionately loved by an unattainable victim, usually a celebrity.” [via Grunge ]
