Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, and Liam Gallagher were the highlights of the festival.
Lollapalooza reached its seventh edition in Brazil this weekend with a diverse line-up, uniting Pop, Electronic and Rock music.
On March 23, 24 and 25, the festival presented its largest edition yet at the Interlagos racetrack in São Paulo and featured more than 60 acts, including Volbeat, Royal Blood, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ego Kill Talent, David Byrne, Pearl Jam and Liam Gallagher.
We at Wikimetal were there and showed everything interesting that happened on our Instagram and here on the website. And, to ease the longing for the festival, we've made a list of the best moments from Lollapalooza 2018. See it below.
Volbeat's debut in Brazil
The Danish band Volbeat came to Brazil for the first time and performed at the Ônix Stage, where they were very well received.
The band was surprised by the legion of fans who sang every word of the songs. With mosh pits and lots of headbanging, the performance opened the doors for the heavier shows of the festival. Read more about Volbeat's show at Lollapalooza 2018 here.

The live sound of Royal Blood
With just a bass and drums, Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher took over a gigantic stage at the festival, proving that rock is alive.
The set based on their latest work, How Did We Get So Dark? (2017), captivated the audience, and the duo proved their dedication by headlining the show alone, without a backing band. Read more about Royal Blood's performance at Lollapalooza 2018 here.

Josh Klinghoffer doing a cover of Jorge Ben Jor
The Red Hot Chili Peppers closed the first night of Lollapalooza 2018 with a confusing yet interesting set. Among their hits “Californication”, “Hump De Bump”, “By The Way” and “Give It Away”, guitarist Josh Klinghoffer ventured into Portuguese by singing “Menina Mulher de Pele Preta” by Jorge Ben Jor.

The hot set of Ego Kill Talent
Under a scorching 32-degree sun, the Brazilian duo Ego Kill Talent delivered a powerful and incredible, albeit short, show. Besides the sun, they also brought surprises.
Brazilian skateboarder Bob Burnquist, who lives in the United States, took to the stage and showed off his skills while the band played and accompanied the tribute to Niper Boaventura, who received a chorus of "Happy Birthday" sung by hundreds of people.

The former Talking Heads' theatrical performance
David Byrne won over new fans after his excellent performance at the festival. A minimalist stage hosted the singer and his band for a performative show that transformed the Interlagos racetrack into a contemporary dance floor.
His set featured mostly tracks from his former band, Talking Heads, but the musician also reserved some time for his solo work. Read more about David Byrne's show at Lollapalooza 2018 here.

The (practically entire) Pearl Jam show
Pearl Jam's performance on Saturday yielded several surprises, such as:
Surprise #1: For the first time, Eddie Vedder and company have authorized their show to be broadcast live here in Brazil on the Multishow channel. Their past performances, in 2005 and 2013, were recorded and shown later.
Surprise #2: The performance of "Can't Deny Me," a song released earlier this month and possibly a preview of the band's new album.
Surprise #3: Perry Farrell, creator of Lollapalooza and lead singer of Jane's Addiction, for whom Eddie Vedder sang "Happy Birthday" early, went on stage and sang "Mountain Song" alongside the band. "His birthday is coming up, but since he threw this party for all of us, I think we'll throw one for him now ," said Vedder.

Liam Gallagher and his set packed with Oasis hits.

Liam Gallagher invading the stage at The Killers' concert.
After the former Oasis member's show, it was The Killers' turn to take to the festival's main stage and perform. Everything was going according to plan until Liam Gallagher stormed the stage.
“Fucking Liam Gallagher!” , said vocalist Brandon Flowers after being startled by the singer and hugging him. Check out the video below:
