A new Beatles premiered in the UK in June of this year – with no release date yet set for Brazil. The documentary tells the story of the British band's relationship with India.
The film will be accompanied by a compilation entitled The Beatles and India: Songs Inspired by the Film , featuring covers of the band's songs by contemporary Indian artists, including "Tomorrow Never Knows" and "Across the Universe," which are among the Beatles' most famous songs with Indian influence. The compilation will be released in its entirety on October 29th.
The first track had already been released – listen to “India, India” below – and now two more have been released. “Tomorrow Never Knows”, originally written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney , has been given a new version by Kiss Nuka . Meanwhile, “Mother Sature's Son” has been reinterpreted by Karsh Kale and Benny Dayal . Listen below.
The Beatles and India was directed by Pete Compton alongside author Ajoy Bose , and will feature rare archival footage of the band. In addition, it will also include testimonies from people who were with the musicians at the time.
