Volkswagen took advantage of the new year to release a farewell video for the Beetle, a car that celebrated 70 years of production in 2019. In homage to the English model's name, Beetle, the manufacturer chose a Beatles to say goodbye to the car.

Titled The Last Mile , the animated video shows a Volkswagen Beetle accompanying a man's growth, from his childhood and first race to his old age, set to the song "Let It Be" sung by a children's choir.

At the end of the video, the Volkswagen Beetle appears flying into the sky and transforming into a beetle. The animation also features some famous figures who marked the 70s, the era of the car's production, such as Kevin Bacon in Footloose , and the visual artist Andy Warhol, who, according to the CNBC , created some parts of the car and portrayed the model in one of his paintings.
