Jay White , bassist for The Agony Scene , has passed away, the band confirmed on their social media.
“It is with extremely heavy hearts that we sadly inform you all of the passing of our friend and bandmate Jay White,” writes The Agony Scene. “Jay was a uniquely special individual who made a serious impact in his short time on Earth. He was a true force of nature who we will all miss dearly. Rest in peace, we love you Jay.”

The cause of the artist's death was not disclosed, but it was public knowledge that he had been in the hospital for the past week, and also in previous months, as described on a fundraising page to financially assist with the bassist's treatment. "Over the last two months, Jay went in and out of hospitalizations, undergoing strict dialysis treatments, and most recently, almost died permanently, were it not for the direct action of friends, caregivers, and our community."
