Founded in 1983 in San Francisco, California, Testament emerged from the same scene that made bands like Metallica , Megadeth , Slayer , and Exodus . Originally named Legacy , the group changed its name to Testament before releasing its debut album, The Legacy (1987), considered one of the most important thrash metal albums. Over the years, Testament has evolved, mixing classic thrash with elements of death metal and progressive metal, without ever losing its identity.
Testament currently consists of Chuck Billy on vocals, Eric Peterson on guitar, Alex Skolnick also on guitar, Steve DiGiorgio on bass, and Chris Dovas on drums.
The band's last tour in Latin America was in 2023. In Brazil, the band played to sold-out venues, including shows in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Belo Horizonte.
