Terry O'Neill , photographer for the Beatles, Elton John, Rolling Stones and others, died last Saturday. He was 81 years old.
O'Neill died at home in London after a battle with cancer. His agency, Iconic Images, confirmed his death in a statement on Instagram.
"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry O'Neill," the statement reads. "Anyone fortunate enough to have known him can attest to his generosity and modesty. As one of the most iconic photographers of the last 60 years, his legendary photos will forever remain in our memories, as well as in our hearts and minds."
One of O'Neill's first jobs was for the newspaper The Daily Sketch , where he photographed the Beatles. He also spent decades photographing Elton John, including the legendary performance at Dodger Stadium.
