Metal Hammer magazine , Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless spoke about the various pranks AC/DC played on her during the tour that brought the two bands together in 2024, including nicknames and a curious birthday party.
It all started with the incident where Momsen was bitten by a bat during a show while her band was opening for AC/DC in Spain: “We were playing in Spain when a bat flew in and landed on me. I didn’t realize it, but it bit me. I had to get several rabies shots, but it all turned into a big joke during the tour. It was a very cute bat, if that’s any consolation,” said Momsen.
From then on, the veterans nicknamed her "Batgirl" and used their creativity to joke around with the vocalist.
“Every day, I’d arrive at my dressing room and there would be a rubber duck dressed as a bat. At the next show, we went on stage and they had covered our amplifiers with stickers that said ‘no bats.’ They threw me a bat-themed birthday party, with a giant homemade bat-shaped cake and a tiara. It was crazy. When AC/DC gives you a nickname, you stick with it!” the singer concluded.
The Pretty Reckless will also be opening for AC/DC on their Brazilian tour, which will include shows in São Paulo on February 22nd and 28th, and March 4th, at the MorumBIS stadium.
