Perry Farrell , vocalist of Jane's Addiction , recently used his social media to post a video in tribute to his friend Taylor Hawkins . Farrell paid tribute to the Foo Fighters , who passed away last Friday, the 25th , with a five-minute statement and at the end of the tribute shared the last audio message he and his wife received from the musician.
“Take care of yourselves and I’ll take care of myself. See you in São Paulo. I love, love, love, love you. Sleep well,” says Hawkins’ voice. Foo Fighters and Jane’s Addiction were supposed to meet at Lollapalooza Brazil , but due to a twist of fate, both bands had to cancel their performances (Jane’s Addiction due to COVID-19 related issues ).
“When I think of him, I sum it all up in one word: speed,” Perry Farrell said in his statement. “He had a gift for maintaining a confident rhythm and amazing speed on the drums. There’s a big part of my heart that’s reserved for him. I accepted him into my heart when we became friends because he was a very pure-hearted guy.”
