Taurus , one of the most emblematic bands of Brazilian thrash metal, celebrates four decades of history in 2025 with a tour that will pass through several Brazilian cities.
The group, currently formed by Rudi Sgarbi (vocals), Cláudio Bezz (guitar), Felipe Melo (bass) and Sérgio Bezz (drums), is preparing a celebratory show that brings together songs from all phases of their career and pays tribute to the fans who have followed the band over the years.
Dubbed Taurus 1985 , the tour promises a setlist encompassing the band's complete discography, which emerged in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro and was launched on the Guitarras of the legendary Rádio Fluminense (A Maldita).
“We are excited about the series of shows we will be doing in 2025, which will extend into next year, for the band's 40th anniversary. There have been many phases, many stages, several releases and many shows. It will be a celebration of this entire period, encompassing all the phases and releases, including already scheduling shows for South America. It will be a great celebration, starting in Belo Horizonte (July 4th) and São Paulo (July 5th),” commented drummer Sérgio Bezz.
“It’s a very special moment that we’re sharing with everyone, on this tour that we call 'Taurus 1985' and which will pass through cities like Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, Guarapari, Teresina, São Luís, Natal, Recife, João Pessoa, Rio de Janeiro, São José dos Campos and others to be confirmed. It’s 40 years of stories that have marked our lives and the lives of many who have accompanied us all this time, I’m sure! There’s nothing better than celebrating together on stage,” added guitarist Cláudio Bezz.
With a trajectory marked by classic albums, Taurus consolidated its importance in the Brazilian metal scene. After a hiatus between 1994 and 2006, they returned to activity with re-releases and memorable performances, such as opening for Testament at Canecão (Rio de Janeiro) and participating in festivals like Super Peso Brasil (2013), which brought together other pioneers such as Metalmorphose , Stress , Centúrias , and Salário Mínimo . The group released new works, participated in documentaries such as Brasil Heavy Metal (2016), and celebrated important milestones, such as their 30th and 35th anniversaries, with special releases, including a live CD/DVD, a photo book, and even their own beer.
