In a recent interview with the Brazilian channel Heavy Talk ( transcribed via Blabbermouth ), singer Tarja Turunen , the first vocalist of the Finnish band Nightwish , revealed that she has never personally met her replacement, Anette Olzon . Despite this, she expressed curiosity and enthusiasm about the possibility of a meeting: “I would love to give her a hug. We have a lot to talk about.”

The artist explained that she only recently started following Anette on social media and was unaware of the Swedish singer's plans for a tour in Brazil. "A colleague told me that she had been commenting on my posts, and I was surprised. It's great to know that," Tarja said humorously.

Former Nightwish vocalists pursue solo careers, but show mutual respect.

Even after years away from Nightwish, Tarja reinforced her affection for the music made during her time with the band. However, she made it clear that she doesn't miss the group's routine. "The music lives in me. It will live forever. But the rest, I don't miss, unfortunately," she stated in another interview given to the Brazilian podcast Ibagenscast .

The artist also spoke about the emotional impact of remaining in an environment where happiness was not constant. “Happiness is everything to me. If the people around me aren’t happy, something is wrong. Music is emotion, and the lack of joy starts to consume you from the inside.”

Tarja Turunen, who has been pursuing a solo career for almost two decades, emphasized the importance of maintaining a genuine emotional connection with music. "My first love was music. If I can't express that love authentically, then I'm not in the right place," she stated.

With a career marked by great albums and tours, both during her time with Nightwish and as a solo artist, Tarja seems open to new connections, including with old pieces of the puzzle she helped assemble. The virtual connection with Anette Olzon could be the beginning of a previously unthinkable dialogue.
