Tarja Turunen certainly has many famous fans, but the most surprising name to reveal himself as an admirer of the singer is that of a Brazilian.
The revelation was made during an interview with Metal Hammer, answering questions from fans. When asked about "which person was the most surprising" to reveal as a fan, Tarja cited the author Paulo Coelho .
“I’ve been a fan of his books ever since I discovered The Alchemist , his first book. I wrote to him because I was interested in using his text for [the side project] Outlanders . His response came back like a boomerang, and he said, ‘My muse! Oh my God!’ We’ve been in touch ever since,” she said.
The singer has always spoken openly about her admiration for Coelho's literary works. "I've read almost all of his books. His work has influenced me a lot. It's sad that Brazilian culture isn't very well disseminated in Europe," the singer told G1 in 2008.
