Tarja Turunen was fired from Nightwish in 2005.
Chris Peters from the Australian magazine Heavy conducted an interview with Finnish singer Tarja Turunen , who recently released the live album Act II .
“I’m very happy. You might think that artists in general don’t end up working as hard on live albums, but I’m working very hard. It took me many, many months to finish, but I’m super happy with it because it’s an important album for me to be able to show where I am at the moment as an artist. You know, it’s not easy to see yourself on screen and work on the video editing, because I’m very critical when it comes to my own performance. I have to put up with myself for a long time [laughs]. It was a fun process.”
Regarding Nightwish , Tarja said: “The past is the past. I shared the stage with Marco Hietala , the bassist of Nightwish, last year. I hadn't seen him for 12 years or something like that, so we shared the stage in Finland on a tour called Raskasta Joulua , which is a Christmas heavy metal tour. I went there and sang some songs with him. It was a really good encounter. It was good to hug each other on stage and people were crying, the audience was crying. It was a good thing for us. They have their own lives, I have mine, everything is fine. Time heals. Besides, you're an adult. You need to think and live your life. You only live once. That's how it is.”
The singer will come to Brazil between August and September for a series of shows in six cities. Nightwish will also be in the country in September for a single show in São Paulo, and tickets are sold out.
