The possibility of a reunion between Nightwish, Tarja Turunen , and Marko Hietala is sparking interest among fans. In an interview with Roadie Crew, the singer commented on the matter and stated that she still sees the possibility as something distant.
“I’ve discussed this with Marko a few times. It’s been 30 years with the band. That’s a long time, more than half my life,” Tarja stated. Despite this, she considered that a new collaboration with the band still seems distant. “A collaboration with Nightwish, the way things are today, is very hypothetical at the moment. Honestly, I can’t imagine myself doing something with the band,” Tarja said.
Despite this, the singer stated that she cannot imagine a new collaboration with the band under the current conditions. "I can never say never or ever. I don't like to close doors in my life. The way things are now, I see that as something difficult."
Tarja Turunen was a member of Nightwish between 1996 and 2005, a period in which she participated in the first albums and helped popularize symphonic metal worldwide. Marko Hietala joined the band in 2001, taking on bass and backing vocals. The musician remained with the group until 2021 and participated in important albums such as Once, Dark Passion Play , and Human.:II: Nature.
