Tarja Turunen has been confirmed as one of the curators for the Girls Rock , which also includes Prika Amaral from Nervosa and Érika Martins from Autoramas . Other names will be announced in the coming days.
The contest sheds light on Pink October, which aims to raise awareness among women about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer and, more recently, cervical cancer, as well as the issue of domestic and family violence against women. Girls Rock is an initiative of Paulo Baron , CEO of the production company Top Link Music , in partnership with the Autoral Brasil Kiss FM and the City Councilor and Secretary of Economic Development and Labor of the City of São Paulo, Aline Cardoso , to seek out new female rock bands and talents in the state of São Paulo.
Registration for the contest is open at this link until November 6th. Bands must have at least one female member. In the first phase of the contest, the team formed by Turunen, Prika, and Érika will select 10 all-female bands, announcing the list on the 12th during the Autoral program. On November 19th, the five finalist bands will be announced, and on November 23rd they will participate in a live interview on Kiss FM's YouTube channel starting at 10 PM.
The finalists will present a live performance on November 25th, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, starting at 9 PM, broadcast live on the Autoral Brasil program and on the radio and program's social media channels.
In addition, the five winning bands will each receive a fee of R$ 2,000, access to the Rocking Your Life Show Business Masterclass by Paulo Baron, and products offered by the Autoral Brasil Kiss FM program. The entire event will be held in compliance with the health measures imposed by health authorities.
