Tarja Turunen kicked off her Brazilian tour last Sunday, the 17th, with a show at the Ópera do Arame in Curitiba. To the surprise of the audience, the Finnish singer performed "Ovelha Negra," a song by Brazilian artist Rita Lee .
This is not the first time Tarja Turunen has paid tribute to Brazilian artists. During her tour of Brazil in 2018, she sang the Paralamas do Sucesso hit, "Lanterna dos Afogados".
In addition to the cover, the setlist included classics from his solo career such as "Until My Last Breath" and "I Walk Alone," as well as songs that were not played on the last tour in Brazil and that have been out of the repertoire for some years, such as "In for a Kill" (since 2015), "Sing for Me" (2016), and "Deliverance" (2019).
Furthermore, the show featured classics from his time in Nightwish alongside his bandmate, also a former Nightwish member, Marko Hietala , such as "Wish I Had an Angel" and "Wishmaster"—the classic "Nemo," once again, was left out. The duo also performed the song they wrote together, "Left on Mars."
