Tarja Turunen , former vocalist of Nightwish , has announced a new project called Outlanders in partnership with producer Torsten Stenzel, a pioneer of EDM. According to them, the project will explore the sound of ambient prog , which blends progressive rock with ambient music.
The idea, according to the official statement, is "to create something exciting and new, combining cool, yet thrilling electronic beats with the vocalist's classic skills and unique guitar performances."
Tarja invited several colleagues to participate in the project, including Joe Satriani, Marty Friedman, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal , and others. The first single, “Closer to the Sky,” will be released on November 26th. The track features Tervor Rabin . You can pre-save it by clicking here.
